The main factors that determine the market competitiveness of a equipment exists two, one is the cost of production, the other is the production efficiency. The machine for patching PSA initially realized the automation revolution that machine patching instead of manual patching, therefore, further research and development of a new equipment is to improve equipment productivity and reduce equipment costs. Under ensuring the sticking accuracy of the machine, it is necessary to research the feasibility of form of the machine that single-drive by changing the mechanical structure.One of the most important factor that affecting the sticking accuracy is the deformation of the beam when the machine that patching PSA is running. The conclusion that the deformation of the beam in the direction of movement is a key factor for the sticking accuracy is got by establishing the error model that how the beam deformation affecting sticking accuracy.The error model is verified by the beam deformation when the machine running, the conclusion is got through the dynamics analysis for the beam of the positioning system of the machine that patching PSA. With the error model, the structure of the beam is designed by the collaborative simulation of the Pro/E and Ansys Workbench. The optimal results successfully guided the development of the prototype that patching PSA with a single-drive, and the prototype has been debugged and its performance is satisfied with the client. The cost of the new prototype reduced 26%, and considerable economic and social benefits have been made for the company.Lightweight design has been made for the beam of the machine with dual-drive form according to the method of parameter optimization. The conclusion that sticking accuracy of the machine with dual-drive form has the room of 35% according to the error model is got. A reference is provided for the further research of the machine with dual-drive form.
