Different structural configuration of silk plain cloth can show different style appearance features, the same category of silk plain fabric look similar but different quality performance is required. Silk degumming of plain weave fabric directly affect the processing technology after and the quality of the finished product. Analysis about the fabric image characteristics in recent years mainly take the gray level co-occurrence matrix, wavelet analysis and BP neural network technology, they are difficult for control and operation, more suitable for theoretical study. Compare to the color information of the image, gray information deal with less information processing on the premise of keep the same image characteristics. Many of the existing image processing softwares have mature gray image processing, such as color separation function of the fabric CAD, grayscale texture eigenvalue extraction function of Halcon. After reading the image, click on the specified window can get the required information. How can identify different silk plain fabric and different refining degree silk plain fabric by convenient and accurate electronic detection method will bring great convenience in the practical production and testing.The paper selected georgette, habotai, crepe DE chine, chiffon of different structure and warp/weft density specification, a total of 14 kinds silk plain finished fabric and chiffon, georgette two kinds green silk plain fabric. The white samples prepared by the basic specifications test, refining green samples in different degree, and also measured the basic specifications. Using of two kinds softwares for different gray information processing on the samples:(1) using the fabric CAD to separate the gray information in 4grades, abtain different gray pixel percentage values of the samples;(2) using the software Halcon obtaining four kinds grayscale texture characteristic value(the gray mean and gray deviation, gray anisotropy, gray entropy).Then analyze the obtained values.The results showed that gray separation analysis method by the fabric CAD softwareis suitable for the distinction between different categories of silk plain cloth, but does not apply to determine the degree of refined green fabric. The average gray level by Halcon has the same identification effect of the white silk plain fabric samples with gray separation analysis method by the fabric CAD. Different samples have larger differences in gray deviation.The gray anisotropy and gray entropy have small difference in between different silk plain fabric and don’t fluctuate as the fabric structure configuration changed,so they are not suitable for the identification of silk plain cloth.
