The traditional examination method typically includes several steps: paper generation,examination arrangement, invigilation, paper submission and manual grading. And its fairness and scientificity is affected by the subjective and objective factors of marker due to lots of manual element of the procedure. The online examination and intelligent grading has a great development due to the rapid development of computer and internet technology.This paper analyzes the shortage of current examination system of basic computer application course, does an adequate demand & benefit analysis, and presents an intelligent grading platform for basic computer application course. This platform is a practical study for type examination, office practice examination, subjective question grading, multiple choice questions, The main work is as below:1. Based on the analysis of status of current type examination system grading, along with the application of approximate string matching algorithm, integrated with line algorithm. This algorithm’s grading result fulfills the reality more. First this algorithm will replace the English word found in the 1st line with the specified word, then use the similar string matching algorithm and matching algorithm to find the right word for grading.2. Study and design a practice question automatic generating & grading system with the background of few studies on the function of practice question automatic generation for basic computer application course. Apply the macro & VBA technique of Office in the process of grading for practice question, and have a reasonable grading result.3. Many current online examination systems have a random order of multiple choice questions, but seldom have random options for the same multiple choice question. This paper proposes a method of random options for the same multiple choice question to reduce cheating.4. This paper also present a design of automatic saving of examination when students click the “next question” button to avoid retaking examination while the student changes a computer because the previous computer is down.In conclusion, summarize the research result, design work, and shortage of this paper, along with an outlook of future study.
