A Trust Management Mechanism Based On The Jury System For Distributed Cognitive Radio Networks

Since there is no control center equipment, in trust management mechanism of distributed cognitive radio networks (CRNs), any two of the cognitive secondary users (SU) node in network must be interconnected and do trust computing by their node processors. These features enable the distributed CRNs to avoid the hidden security problems which caused by center control equipment attack, and to have better expansibility. But the lack of central control equipment has brought such problems as no uniform standard control of trust calculating in trust mechanism, difficulty in trust evaluation and collaborative decision-making without policymakers, and other issues. Which leading to the control chaos of decision-making in distributed CRNs.For this purpose, in this paper, we introduced the jury system into thrust management mechanism, and propose a new trust management mechanism based on the jury system for distributed CRNs. In this trust management mechanism, we select an appropriate proportion of SUs who satisfy some certain conditions as the "jury" according to the network size. On the basis of the corresponding spectrum allocating scheme, the jury work together to review the reputation value of each SU, and then to complete the distributed information fusion and the spectrum allocation in CRNs. This trust management mechanism is able to calculate the reputation value of each SU accurately and fairly in distributed CRNs without any data fusion center or decision maker, to complete the cooperative sensing data fusion, and finally to allocate the spectrum resource based on such factors as reputation values.In addition, the jury system and the trust mechanism are of mutual support and mutual cooperation. The introduction of the jury system, and the randomness of the jury members’ election, can lead the "democratic representation" of social jurisprudence into distributed cognitive radio networks, which is able to ensure the accuracy and the fairness of the credibility accreditation. The jury is served by a number of members. And there is an integrated election method, which can ensure the robustness and sustainability of the jury system. The trust model investigate the sensing behavior and communication behavior of each secondary user, which can ensure the positive operation of cognitive radio networks.Accreditation and supervision combined to ensure the security of the entire scheme. This proposed trust management mechanism will not only be able to effectively address the distributed cooperative sensing data fusion and spectrum allocation issues in cognitive radio network, but also can build a fair and robust trust management mechanism.Simulation and analysis results show that, the proposed new trust management mechanism based on the jury system for distributed CRNs. With a sound jury system to ensure its security and robustness, the trust management mechanism is able to achieve the accuracy and fairness of trust evaluation, and to improve the validity and flexibility of spectrum allocation.
