With the progress of science and technology, medical imaging equipment also had a rapid development, as a result, diverse modality of images appeared in medical field. And each kind of the imaging equipment images has its special advantages and disadvantages, to some extent, it provides a complementary between images of different modality, which is helpful to doctor for the accuracy of clinical diagnose and judgment. But in order to use the different modality of images in an intuitive way, there needs a technology to integrate the various images.In this paper, the data is come from there mode of pig image, there are CT images, PET images and CTA images. CT and CTA image mainly show the anatomy characteristic of pig heart, but before get the CTA image, they gave a certain amount of contrast agents to pig blood vessels, thus we can have a clear look of pig blood vessels. And the PET image is mainly give the information of the pig myocardial function of metabolism, and reflect the myocardial infarction of heart.This paper mainly discusses the registration and fusion technology based on multimodality. In the field of medical, As the imaging principle of different model, each imaging mode has its own character, for example, CT and MRI images are have a high resolution of anatomical information, and PET image can show the function information of tissue metabolism, pathological changes and so on. If we can get the different mode of images together, doctor can have a convenient way to diagnose disease. Nowadays, the combined PET/CT need two kinds of scanning, so it would take too much pain to the patient(such as the effect of the contrast to patient’s body), besides, when get the images, they need patients keep in one way for several hours, which is often difficult. So far, they would like the fusion of different equipment, so that the image registration and fusion technology is become important.Considering the characteristics of different modality of images and the image parameters when they were collected, registering and fusing CTA and PET image in a directly way is rather difficult, so here we use CT as a mediation to finish the registration and fusion of CTA and PET image, and in order to complete the complementary advantages of anatomical and functional imaging. The main content ofthis paper is as follows: in the process of registration, firstly, we accomplish PET and CT image registration based on mutual information. Secondly, we finished the rigid registration of CT and CTA image, here manual selection markers were used to match feature extraction method to get the transform parameters. After achie ved the rigid registration of CT and CTA image, we got the elastic registration of local area of CT and CTA image based on the transformation parameter and the B-spline, in order to further reduce the error and correct the deformation of heart. Lastly, based on the one-to-one correspondence between CTA and CT, and the one-to-one correspondence between CT and PET, we began the registration of PET and CTA image. During the process of registration, we also had the image fusion operation. In the last part of the thesis, we talk about the result of performance analysis of the registration which we had done.
