Because vision is an important mean of getting information for human, with the computer technology developing, a new comprehensive discipline that called computer vision was generated. However, binocular stereo vision which is a main branch of the computer vision has been the focus of the research recently. Binocular stereo vision applied to measure and positioned produces binocular vision measurement. Based on the theory of binocular stereo vision, binocular vision measurement is penetrating into the industrial manufacturing, agriculture, medical treatment, aviation and many other fields.Binocular stereo vision measurement uses two cameras to shoot the same scene at the same time, the three-dimensional images are collected. Then by calculating the parameters of two cameras and matching the stereo images, the objects in the scene can realize to measure.The main research content of paper is as follows:(1)Based on learning the related knowledge of camera calibration, the method suitable for the topic of camera calibration is proposed. By extracting the image feature as the computer image coordinates, setting the world coordinates of calibration plate, and using the Zhang plane calibration algorithm, camera calibration can be achieved. The point of innovation is that the method imports the calculation of tangential distortion coefficient of the centrifugal distortion. The nonlinear model only usually gets radial distortion. As the thin prism distortion for ideal image has little impact. So the centrifugal distortion is added.(2)To understand the basic knowledge of stereo matching, adopting the polar constraint method matches the stereo images. By computing basic matrix and polar equation, the paper uses the method of the shortest distance to find the same point. Finally, the accuracy of matching is analyzed.(3)According to the principle of binocular stereo vision measurement, the three dimension coordinate of feature points is acquired due to inside and outside the parameters of camera and stereo matching. The distance of two points can get and distance error between the calculated and measured values and error source is analyzed.(4)The paper designs GUI interface based on MATLAB, the key technologies of binocular measurement is integrated in the interface to achieve the binocular stereo measuring system.
