In modern electronic Industry, PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is the carrier of different electronic components. Kyotsu Japan company is a traditional company to manufacture bare boards of PCB (PWB, Printed Wire Board). During the product processing, there are many inevitable defects such as open circuit and short circuit etc. The quality of PWB affects the performance and the reliability of electronic products, but traditional methods of PWB defects detection have been unable to meet the testing requirement about high-speed. Therefore, the study of automatic defect inspection system is meaningful in PCB/PWB production today.According to the problem of image preprocessing during the process of the defects inspection of PWB, the algorithms of SD2S (Smart Image Deblurring to Serialized) technology is applied to get the best image for feature recognition. First of all, the status and problems of PWB defects inspection system are analyzed in this paper, and the necessity of SD2S technology is illustrated. Next, the function modules such as digital image sampling, image pre-processing, parameter settings, image comparison and other functions are discussed. Then the architecture of SD2S-based system is analyzed. Some core subsystems including parameter settings subsystem, image processing subsystem, and safety subsystem are designed in details. It constructs the software system to validate the performance of proposed algorithms. As a result, the experiments prove that the SD2S algorithms can achieve fast and effective defect inspection with better usability, stability, and effectively.
