There have been many areas of optical imaging systems whose requirements are becoming increasingly demanding. These requirements include: light weight, small size, large field of view and sensitive to moving targets. Under the premise of image quality assurance, the miniaturization of optical system is currently one of the main directions of development. Based on the traditional theory, there is a certain contradiction between image quality and system size. Optical Array elements with high-speed, parallel resistance, high capacity and huge interconnected ability can effectively solve the contradiction. Microlens array is an array of optical elements which is used commonly.Microlens array imaging is a bionic compound eyes of insects in a sense. Although, the sensitivity of the bionic compound eye system is high, the role of distance and the resolution have some deficiencies as the compound eyes of insects. In this context, this paper studies the imaging system based on microlens array, especially in improving the system resolution and the role of distance. The existing algorithm is improved, the resolution of the image acquired is improved effectively, and the effective image distance is greatly increased.A brief introduction of the relevant content of the microlens array and the research status in imaging system are given firstly.Second, the basic theory of optical array as well as the role a microlens array plays in the imaging system are studied. Theory of the algorithm based on image sequences are introduced. The post-digital image processing algorithms is introduced, and the image of high quality is got. Against the phenomenon of high frequency information is missed in the image obtained by the pixel rearrangement method. The algorithm is improved by deblurring pretreatment, and the resolution is improved.Again, the compact advantage of the imaging system based on microlens array is analyzed. The mathematical model of the system is constructed. In view of the field of ordinary microlens array is consistent with the unit lens’ field, a smaller field is resulted. In this paper, a larger field is obtained by the design of microlens array. Then, the system is simulated by software and the experiment is executed. The correctness of the content of this article is verified. The result is compared with the result obtained by the traditional single lens imaging system, and the quality of the image is assured.Finally, the work is summarized, and the future research is discussed.
