In today’s rapid economic development, livability of residence has gradually become a hot topic. The livability of living environment is characterized as economic situations, quality of life, environmental conditions, traffic conditions, food safety and other aspects. Evaluation of livability can indirectly reflect the actual situation of these indicators. Remote sensing technology has the advantages of strong objectivity, and short cycle of data acquisition. The use of this advanced technology means for livability evaluation is the trend of livability studies. As the emerging field of remote sensing research in recent years, unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) remote sensing technology has become more and more popular because of the mobility and quick response ability of the UAV. It can easily and quickly be evaluated with the UAV remote sensing techniques used in livability research and it also inject new vitality for livability evaluation research.In this paper, The Weishan lake regional livability evaluation standard system based on the study of regional geographic features and available data was built. UAV remote sensing images were used to identify the target objects according to the evaluation system. Livability evaluation factor indices were calculated using the recognition result. And then evaluated the livability in Weishan lake area. In this paper, the main research contents and conclusions are as follows:1) Weishan lake regional livability evaluation system based on UAV images was built referring to the livability scientific evaluation criteria published by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, combining with the existing data in the study area. Including ecological environmental factor, geographical factor, housing factor, municipal facilities factor and 11 evaluation indices, which are per capita green area, building area, transportation accessibility degree, etc.2) RGB color indices and improved object-oriented multiple populations cross artificial immune recognition system were used to extract trees, buildings, roads and other targets from UAV images. Livability evaluation indices were calculated according to the target extraction result and other data.3) The weight of each index was calculated using information entropy method. And livability of 77 settlements in the study area was evaluated using the ecological niche fitness model based on indices calculation results.
