Now the electronic information technology develops rapidly, people pay more attention to image acquisition and processing technology. Image processing technology is the basic of image analysis and image recognition, and has been widely used in biomedicine, military and other fields. In this paper, we combine the embedded system and the palmprint image processing, designed an embedded system for plamprint image, in order to meet the needs of low cost and strong real time.The system consists of a USB camera, OK6410, the embedded chip board based on ARM11 and the composition of image acquisition and processing software system. Based on a foundated hardware platform, choose Linux operating system as the software platform, introduced the details of the construction of software system platform, including building the cross compile environment in the PC, compiling bootloader, Linux kernel compile, install Linux programmer, and transplantation of Open-cv, the transplantation of QT/E, composed of the integrated development environment of the application software of the system. Designed the graphical user application platform of embedded ARM based on Qt complete to deal with the palmprint image, including collected two values, contour extraction and de-noising processing. Through the management of the user interface, realized the processing of the collected palmprint image.The system contacts the basic to the practice, the experimental result shows that the system can meet the real time image acquisition and palmprint image processing requirements, reached the expected goal basically.
