With the advancement of science and technology, the indoor positioning technology based on wireless communication technology has gone into people’s life. However, the existence of NLOS error has brought great difficulties to the precise indoor positioning. And, our country has done little research for the indoor positioning application. This paper mainly studies the algorithm and application of active indoor positioning. The main works and contributions are summarized as follows:1. The paper introduces many range-based and range-free positioning algorithms and does the Simulation to compare their positioning accuracy. Then, this paper applies Chan algorithm and Kalman Filter algorithm to locate the target in the PLUS platform:Due to Chan algorithm’s relatively low positioning accuracy in the large measurement noise condition, this paper uses the Kalman Filter to deal with the contaminated data and gets a more accurate coordinates of the target.Then, this paper does the positioning experiments based on PLUS platform with the above methods to demonstrate the superiority of them.2. The paper design and compile the display interface. The display interface including 5areas and 5 buttons.(1)5 areas:output location coordinates data area, output positioning TOA data area, label information and cross-border police area and real-time display area.(2) 5 buttons:"config" button, "get data from the network" button, "locate" button and "clear image" button.The display interface has achieved 3 functions:output targets’coordinate information, cross-border police, output distance information and display target’s real-time location on the map.3. The paper discusses the indoor positioning application and designs the typical application based on PLUS platform. The application design includes two parts:the research of indoor personnel and goods monitoring system, the research of underground garage management system. This paper presents a detailed flow chart and does the positioning experiments of these two designs based on PLUS platform.
