Because of the need of teaching and research, every school will buy a lot of web databases, these web databases may not allow users to access, search or download in operation for some reason. To ensure that the school staff can be informed when an exception occurs, we need to monitor the databases regularly, however the existing methods are inefficient and complex, but also consume a lot of human resources, so we need a real-time simple automatic monitoring system to monitor the web databases and give the analysis report about the quality of database service. So to solve the problem, this paper designs and develops QoS monitoring system for web databases.Through the analysis for business processes of QoS monitoring system for web databases, and consideration for system expandability, portability and stability, we developed the server module with SSH framework and MySQL, developed information acquisition module for database monitoring behavior with Swing, packet capture, packet reorganization and packet analysis, developed mobile client module with Android and JSON. This system uses network packet analysis technology to get the web database monitoring behavioral characteristics and uses HTTP request information to simulate user behavior, this method ensures the independence between monitoring methods and database source code, and provides a set of simple and convenient monitoring solution. This system gives us the analysis of QoS monitoring system for web database, and gives solution for exception with Levenshtein Distance. This system can help us monitor the web database accurately, and user can get the exception information by email or mobile client.In this paper, this system can monitor the database in any time by simulating user’s behavior to send HTTP request to the database, this method is simple and accurate. This system appears to solve the human monitoring inefficiencies and improve the quality of service of web databases. After requirement analysis, design, completion and test, the system has been used. The practical operation proves that the system is running well and can monitor the web database in real-time.
