As a new branch of natural computing, membrane computing is a hot cross-discipline topic of many subjects. With the research and development of membrane computing, more and more researchers began to study and design calculation model for it. Membrane computing research involves design and simulation. As to a complex membrane system, it is a complicated and error-prone process by artificial design and simulation. So you need to use film calculation results of the simulation software assisted membrane. Therefore simulation software for membrane computing to assistant membrane computing research is required. Most of the simulation software developed with different programming languages currently. They can only support single type of membrane system, and unable to perform complex data processing. As a great mathematical software, MATLAB can realize such complex functions as algorithm development, data visualization, data analysis and numerical calculation.Base on the reasons above, a technique for designing membrane computing simulator by MATLAB is given in this thesis, aims at offering a certain technical support for membrane computing. The main works and achievements are as follows:Thesis studied the principal theory of membrane computing. The research evolvement of membrane computing was introduced as well as the simulation software P-Lingua and MeCoSim. By means of explaining the cell-like membrane system described the basic method of membrane calculating.Through analyzing research status, a general requirement of simulator for membrane computing based on MATLAB was put forward. Demand analysis of membrane simulator was carried on, and overall design project for membrane computing on MATLAB was given. Modular programming ideas was used to determine the required function modules, and design requirements were presented to each module through essential design.By the way of using mixed programming technology, functions for each module of cell like membrane computing were programmed. Through the simulation of biochemical reaction mechanisms within the cell, the membrane computing simulator was implemented based on MATLAB. And it can carry on the function such as parsing, simulating and outputting different types of cell like membrane system. The function of membrane computing simulator was tested by a certain method. The test result can meet the design requirements, so the cell like membrane computing simulator was verified.Through the simulation of cell communication and coordination mechanism, the membrane computing simulator was implemented based on MATLAB. And it can carry on the function such as parsing, simulating and outputting different types of tissue like membrane system. The function of membrane computing simulator was tested by a certain method. The test result can meet the design requirements, so the tissue like membrane computing simulator was verified.Through the simulation of neural cell information exchange mechanism, the membrane computing simulator was implemented based on MATLAB. And it can carry on the function such as parsing, simulating and outputting spiking neural like membrane system. The function of membrane computing simulator was tested by a certain method. The test result can meet the design requirements, so the spiking neural membrane computing simulator was verified.This work is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (61170016).
