Vehicle is one of the most important tools in modern traffic.This paper studies deeply on license plate recognition technology,from the vehicle license plate location, license plate character segmentation,license plate character recognition three aspects, based on the research to the domestic and foreign literature.To improve the efficiency of license plate recognition,license plate location,character segmentation of respectively have been optimized and improved,which makes the system can be more accurate identification of license plate information.In license plate recognition technology,first of all, to pretreat the collected images.This method can filter out the interference information, improve the image processing speed, the collected images to gray-scale by weighted average method.
