With the development of three-dimensional geological modeling techniques,the combination of Mathematics, geology and computer become more and more close, Three-dimensional geological modeling in the field of geological research has been further developed, three-dimensional geological modeling visualization technology has become one of the most important steps of digital mines and geographic information system researches. This paper which is based on the deep analysis of 3 d geological modeling method, takes Pan jia tian iron mine as example, uses multiple contours triangular mesh reconstruction algorithm and combines with OpenGL visualization technology to build Three-dimensional geological model in study area, then to achieve ore body 3D visualization.This paper detailedly analyzes and summarizes the data model and modeling method in 3 d geological modeling and then makes a comparative analysis. What are elaborated earlier in this paper is the work progress of various kinds of modeling methods then leads to geological modeling method adopted in this paper. The main part of this paper focuses on studying surface model building, using Delaunay triangulation subdivision algorithm to generate the surface model and to display Surface Model by combining with the OpenGL. In addition, OpenGL visualization technology is introduced in detail and its importance in the process of geological research is also illustrated. This paper uses multiple contours triangular mesh reconstruction algorithm when studying the geological body surface. The difficult problems of the algorithm are the following three parts,Contour detour direction, contour centroid alignment, the triangle surface reconstruction. This paper makes a detailed analysis on these problems and put forward the methods and technology to solve them: With perimeter projection auxiliary control lines. On the basis of analyzing the Pan jia tian iron mine’s geology and collection of data, generate geological body surface by section drilling, data processing and using Visual c + + 6.0 as development tool. Visualization of geological model and generate decent with the shortest diagonal method comparative analysis, we can see three-dimensional solid model with auxiliary projection perimeter control lines to generate more accurate.
