With the development of information technology, the image has been widely used in social life. The benefits of digital images, such as the ease with which they can be edited, shared, stored and so on,have become the object of concern once com-ing out. However, the nature of digital image which can be easily manipulated, brings many forgery problems at the same time, with bad influence. Therefore, research on digital image authentication becomes more and more important. At present, image authentication is mainly divided into two directions, one is active authentication technology, such as digital watermarking and digital signature, is mature and has been applied to real life, but the active authentication requires a priori information, and has great limitations in image tampering detection; Rising in recent years, the other is passive forensics, it assumes that tamper with the internal correlation be-tween the image would be destroyed or changed.Based on this assumption, passive forensics can analyse images directly for testing, with no priori information. In future, passive forensics will be the main direction for image authentication. In this paper, starting from the characteristics of the interpolation algorithm, we mainly do two things:(1)We put forward a new correlation between interpolated images and their re-interpolated images, referring to interpolation ghost, moreover, we prove the existence of this nature in theory. (2)Based on the newly discovered interpolation Ghost, we designed a new digital image tamper detection algorithm. For the truth of interpolation ghost and the practicability of detection algorithm, we also conduct a large number of experiments in paper.
