With the development of computer network technology, test system based on network are more frequently than before; among all the medical subjects, Diagnostic Medical Imaging has the closest relationship with computer technology, especially the Image Processing and Communication System(IPCS) which were developed for the hospital image information system are set up in the Imaging Labs and applied in teaching and tests by many medical colleges. IPCS system brings in a whole new teaching model, it also contributes to the tremendous development of the teaching of Diagnostic Medical Imaging, and this system has special effect in improving the independent image comprehension of students. however, IPCS has its own disadvantage because it only consists of two steps: image-reading and report-writing.This essay focus on the problems occurred while applying IPCS in teaching and points out that the practicable solution is the medical imaging network test system based on IPCS. The author explores the essential technique related to the developing system, and designs the functional model and data bank for the network test system. with the help of IPCS, the system stores a large amount of DICOM image of a variety of patients’ body parts taken by different equipment(including x-ray, CT, MR, Ultrasound, etc). The author designs the format converting plug-in for the DICOM files. The author probes into a new way of doing test which allows the students to analyze the images and then click on the lesion area to make judgments. The IPCS use the Data Mining Technology to analyze the test image data bank, which will improve the efficiency of test composition accordingly, and in the meantime avoid using a certain patient’s image frequently.With the results of the research, the problems occur in the teaching process while using the IPCS will be solved, and the new way of test will be designed by clicking the mouse to determine the lesion area of the patients, which will offer more options for the teaching and test of Diagnostic Medical Imaging.The system applies Jpeg2000 image compression algorithm,which reduces the required storage space for the images and reserves the essential information in the mean time. As A result, the examination bank can store a large amount of medical images. Now the system has been tested and is in trail operation. The system running is stable, the test pattern is new and origin, and the scoring system is accurate. In daily teaching, tests and students’ self-study, most feedbacks we get from the students are positive, and obviously this system will help the students master the knowledge points of diagnostic medical imaging. when certain subjective question which requires artificial marking is needed, eg. "analyse the image and write a report based on the image". The system will choose the Longest Common Subsequence(LCS) algorithm which will add assistant marking with mark comparison, this will greatly speed up the marking of the test paper, and reduce of workload of marking. However, more test data is needed to verify the stability of the system and the validity of the test quality.The system mainly probes the two-dimension immobile medical images. with the popularity of three-dimension image in medical field because of its unique advantage in medical diagnosis, the next step is to make the system support the three-dimension medical images.
