Skeleton-driven deformation technology for its control means flexible, simple operation has been a hot issue in the field of surface modeling research. The subdivision and differential deformation technologies introduced into the Skeleton-driven deformation is a new research direction. This paper studies the following:The paper presents a interaction method of partial skeleton extraction for three-dimensional mesh model. First of all, it extracts facets and vertexes for the partial of the three-dimensional mesh model; It makes the geometric cross-sections on the feature points and the aliquot angle; Followed, calculation of intersecting lines and skeleton points; Finally, connecting the skeleton points in order to generate a partial skeleton. It achieves the accurate extraction of a partial skeleton model and is simple. The paper presents some partial skeleton extraction instances, proved to be a method for the effective and the feasibility. The paper presents a method of subdivision-based skeleton driven deformation of mesh. Firstly, after that skeleton and control mesh were generated on deformed region, using the relationship of some rules between skeleton and control mesh, subdivision mesh and mesh model was established. Secondly, when the skeleton was modified according to the desired deformation result, the change information of the corresponding subdivision surface was transformed into the alteration of the mesh gradient field for Poisson. Some examples showed that the deformed method for different mesh model could get better editing effects and detailed features after the deformation. Comparing with the method of traditional skeleton driven deformation, it is proved to be easy to operate, and can be employed to preserve detailed features effectively. The method is suitable for editing with complex and rich geometric detailed model.A system is based with MFC and Open GL graphics library, using of VC ++ 6.0 as the development environment. It can achieve a three-dimensional mesh file be read, display, Catmull-Clark subdivision and deform.
