3D reconstruction study of bat wing reconstruct 3D construction of bat wing from Micro-CT scan tomographic slice images.It uses digital image processing,pattern recognition and computer graphics technology.It is a multi-disciplinary task.3D digital model of reconstructing bat wing provides data support that can help to simulate bat wing swinging.Owing to Micro-CT limited scan range,its maximum scan height is 70mm.This is less than skeleton model of bat wing which is 100mm. So we scan it twice.The second time is opposite to the first time placed.Then we reconstruct them respectively. Last we put them together.The paper mainly finish image segmentation,volume rendering,surface rendering and 3D align.Among them,image segmentation and surface rendering are an important part of the paper.First the paper present the processing of getting tomographic slice images.Then we split tomographic slice images by using EM for gaussian mixtures algorithm and present this algorithm principle in detail.After it,the paper present the VTK simply,volume rendering principle,surface rendering principle.We get the surface rendering from volume rendering by marching cubes algorithm.Because of big image data and out of computer memory,the paper chose to use step-wise reconstruction in volume rendering,then put them together.At last,the paper gets two parts of 3D surface data.After it,we begin to align them and save the result in PLY file format.In aligning,the paper use iterative closet point(ICP) algorithm.In the paper,we introduce ICP algorithm simply.Because of obvious initialization feature points,the paper align the left side of the bat wing skeleton at first,then aligning the right side,last getting the whole aligned bat wing model.the paper split the each bones from aligned bat wing model.Because of not complete splitting and some data points belong to two bones,the paper deal with it by checking duplicate data points.It avoid such cases happen.We implemented the image segmentation and checking the duplicate date points in the PLY file using C++.Volume segmentation was implemented using MDSTK. Surface rendering was implemented using C++ and VTK.Through experiments,the paper get the whole bat wing 3D model and segmentation model.It provides a good data supporting for next study work.
