The using of automation technology in modern industrial production is increasing widely, and the requirements of equipment performance are also increasing. Because of the low stiffness and the strong nonlinearity, the control performance and the effect of the traditional pneumatic systems has been unable to meet the control requirements. With the appearing of new electric servo control components and pneumatic components and the improving of the modern control theory and intelligent control theory, the new pneumatic servo system has appeared. It makes high-speed continuous control and precise positioning happen. In a typical pneumatic servo control system, generally using rotary motor, ball screw, gear or linear motor as the drive mechanism. The system has lag, limited response, metal-ion interference and other issues, so its control accuracy is limited. So people begin to study the new driving way and structure to design a positioning system with the high-speed, high-precision and high-travel. Recently, it was suggested that the use of bellows as the drive actuator design precision servo positioning system and a study on this. Recently, some people suggest to design servo positioning system using bellows as the drive actuator and study on this.In this paper, we design a new type of pneumatic servo system used metal bellows as the single driving mechanism. and design its mechanical structure and system architecture. We use air compressor as the source of gas, use the electrical proportional valve to control the flow, use the grating feet for position measurement feedback, use Lab VIEW software collect data and get waveform. The dynamic model of the new pneumatic Servo system driven by the metal bellows is established, and use the Matlab/Simulink software to simulate the mathematical model and analyze the data which verifies the validity of the simulation model.PID control effect is studied through Matlab simulation and the simulation results can follow the input signal very well.Because the parameters and variables of the pneumatic servo system bellows drive gas and pneumatic proportional valve are non-linear changes,so it is difficult to use classical control theory to control the pneumatic system. In this paper, we use the neural network predictive control method based on the BP neural network to replace the traditional PID control method, get simulation and analysis for its control effect through the Simulink software, and prove the control effect is better than traditional PID control.
