Along with the growing of customers and business, the number of people who goes to the power business hall become bigger and bigger. It costs long time for customers to wait just for a simple business, and the ability of servicing high quality customers is reduced. With the development of science and technology, the robots appear in people’s life gradually and it has good application value and market prospect. According to these conditions, the research of service robot which used in power business hall is proposed. The paper expounded the design program and research achievements from three aspects, the mechanical system research, the circuit system research and the software research.The paper analyzed the application requirements of the robot which is used in the power business hall, and presented the design ideas of the mechanical system, the circuit system and the software system. Firstly, the paper compared the applicability of the two suspension mechanism and merits and demerits of three arrange methods of wheels. Also it presented the design proposal of the arm, head and body of the robot. Secondly, the paper presented the function and process design of the circuit modules, for instance, MCU1, MCU2, motherboard and power control module. In addition, the paper designed the independent charging function of robot to satisfy the working time requirement. Finally, the paper introduced the software system.In the software algorithm realization, the paper presented the framework of the business system of the robot, and designed the business process of the bankcard payment function. Moreover, the paper accomplished the pattern recognition and the character recognition. Especially, in the process of the character recognition, the research optimized the character image processing, feature extraction and pattern recognition. Finally, the paper introduced the Multimodal Human-Robot Interaction and robot multi-task scheduling mechanism of robot.The intelligent service robotic for using in power business hall designed in this paper has strong trade characteristic and practice value.
