Mobile devices in people’s daily life have become more and more popular, anddramatically changed people’s way of life. As a new way of computing, mobile cloudcomputing has improved mobile devices’ ability in the aspects of computing and storage, and significantly enhances users’ experience while it can satisfy users’ different needs forcomplex computation and mass storage. However, the factors, such as the unstability ofwireless network bandwidth and users’ mobility, may influence the reliability of the datatransmission of mobile devices, increasing the energy consumption of mobile devices. Atthe same time, the battery capacity grows slowly, and the world has paid close attention toenergy problem, while the energy consumption of mobile devices has become a hotresearch topic. Therefore, the energy optimization for mobile device of mobile cloudcomputing has a very vital signficance. This paper selects to optimize delay-tolerant applications under3G network.Becasuse completing a transfer in3G network will incur a tail energy consumption, so thisarticle adopts the method of delaying data transmission which can effectively save the tailenergy consumption. This paper first gaves a system model and a energy model of datatransmission, and then puts forward a decision for energy optimization, namely tominimize energy consumption under the condition of controlling the delay of datatransmission. This paper proposes a energy-delay tradeoff by using Lyapunov optimizationframework, and gave a energy optimization algorithm. This paper realizes the energy optimization algorithm, experimental results show thatthe proposed energy optimization decision can achieve to minimize the energyconsumption under the condition of controlling the delay of data transmission, and bigerdata arrival rate of applications will incur more energy consumption.
