It has shown a greater capacity of data transmission than previous systems. The mobile internet has been developing rapidly for several years due to the high speed data transmission provided by mobile communication systems. The channel estimation is one of the most important fields of LTE research. In order to simplify the processing of receiver, the pilot signal is inserted into slot structure in TD-LTE system, which ensures that the non-blind estimation methods can be adopted.This paper focuses on the research of the channel estimation algorithm in the TD-LTE uplink. Firstly, the development of mobile communication technology is introduced briefly, and the fundamental theories of OFDM and SC-FDMA are descripted in detail. Secondly, in this paper, the LS estimation methods, the LMMSE estimation methods and the DFT-based channel estimation methods are discussed and compared. Thirdly, to alleviate the’edge effect’of DFT-based channel estimation methods, an improved channel estimation method by adding virtual channel frequency response (VCFR) is proposed. In this improved method, a novel frequency window function is designed and a new variation noise reduction strategy is adopted. By simulation in several scenarios, the superiority of proposed method over the other channel estimation methods is verified in both performance and flexibility to various multipath fading channels.To implement this proposed channel estimation method on multi-code DSP platform, in this paper, a method of adding different percentages of VCFR is designed. Taking account of the features of MSC8157multi-core DSP platform, this paper designs an efficient task allocation scheme which proved to suit the application scenarios of multi-user and the antenna configuration with one transmit antenna and two receiver antennas. By adopting various optimization techniques, the program of proposed channel estimation method can be executed effectively.
