Recently, with the increase in the scale and traffic of optical network, the interoperability and intelligent control among multi-domain optical network are becoming increasingly prominent. The emerging of software-defined network provides the development of all-optical network with new direction. But the traditional software defined optical network lacks of a unified deployment mechanism for the whole network resources and control plane.Supported by national863project, this paper researches the network mechanism, proposes a perpendicular multi-layer architecture for software-defined optical network, a multi-controller coordination mechanism, a jointly controller protection and restoration method and a lost contact fault location method. The author participates in setting up the software-defined optical network platform, carries out the simulation about global resource optimization of cross-domain services. Main work and research results are as follows:(1) Focusing on the problem of interoperability in multi-domain network, this paper proposes a perpendicular multi-layer architecture for multi-domain optical network and an inter-domain routing resource providing method, designs a multi-controller coordination mechanism, and realizes global optimization for cross-domain services under the awareness of global resources.(2) Based on the architecture proposed above, the paper designs the function extension for controllers under the multi-domain scenario. The paper also proposes a protect and restoration method for control plane and a fault location method for the lost contact error between the controller and the switch, which can tell the location and cause of the error, and then recover the network by using proper strategies.(3) Relying on national863project, the author participates in setting up an experimental software-defined optical network platform. The author mainly designs and develops the control plane, proposes a protocol extension scheme. Meanwhile, under the Visual Studio test environment, this paper carries out simulation about the inter-domain resources routing and providing method for multi-domain software-defined optical network. Simulation results show that the average hops of services are reduced by about16%, the average resource consumption of services is reduced by about15%, and the blocking rate is reduced by more than17%when the network is lightly and moderately loaded.
