With the development of wireless communication technology, more excellent antenna performance is required, while the design of the antenna is also increasing difficulty. Due to the optically transparent film has unique advantages of electrical properties and optical transparent properties, it can be designed the optically transparent film antenna. It can provide an effective solution for antenna design problems in wireless communications, such as terminal antenna, automobile antenna and satellite antenna. An introduction of the significance and current research status of the optically transparent film antenna technology was given, the advantages and the urgent problem of the transparent antenna were listed. And then the basic properties and uses of the optically transparent film materials were summarized. The radiation efficiency of the optically transparent antenna is low because of the smaller conductivity than metal. In addition, the transparent film materials are very sensitive to the temperature, which is difficult to be hot soldering. To solve these problems, the technique to improve the radiation efficiency of the monopole transparent antenna and optical transparent microstrip antenna were researched in this thesis, thus by applying highly conductive narrow strips to high current density areas of the monopole antenna and using of mesh metallic structure radiation patch to replace the transparent oxide film patch of microstrip antenna. Then the feasibility of the methods were verified through the simulation software. And the non-thermal soldering method of the transparent antenna was proposed. Two novel optically transparent RFID reader microstrip antennas using Indium tin oxide (ITO) film were designed. A aperture coupled linear polarization transparent antenna was designed, and then the circular polarization optical transparent antenna was proposed by improving the structure of the linear polarization antenna. The design and simulation were completed in CST software and two prototypes were fabricated and measured. Both the simulation and experimental results match well. The results demonstrate that the designed antennas were suitable for the UHF RFID system. The main parameters of the antenna structure were scanned in software and the method of transparent microstrip antenna design were summarized. The innovation in this part of the thesis is mainly reflected in the design of optically transparent microstrip antenna using ITO film and the application for the RFID smart fitting room, which has made up for the insufficient research in the field of the optical transparent microstrip antenna.
