As the rapid development of economy, energy shortage is the most urgentproblem in the modern times. The exploitation and usage of new energy will be the hotarea in the future.This article mainly aims at more research and development of the wave buoywhich is used in the development and utilization of the waves. First, the detectiontechnology of buoy at home and abroad has been compared and summarized. Afteranalyzing the advantages and disadvantage of various types of buoy. A new buoysystem based on six axis attitude recognition sensor was designed. We introduced themain hardware structure and the parameters of sensor.In the next place, we focused on analyzing and studying the method for frequencyacquisition. Allowing for nonlinear and non-stationary characteristics of wave, Hilberttransform was introduced. The acceleration of gravity of the float in the verticaldirection was decomposed to several narrow band signals by EMD. The power of thenarrow band signal was used as a basis to obtain the main components, then, Hilberttransform was used to get the instantaneous frequency sequence. At last, we used the3σ criteria to choose and deal with the sequence to obtain the wave frequency.Thesimilarities and differences between Hilbert marginal spectrum and Fourier spectrumwere discussed in analyzing process, we considered the resolution of Hilbert methodare higher and more realistic. Next, we used X, Y axis tilt angle to estimate the maindirection of propagation of appearance wave. As for the software processing, X, Y axistilt angle was realized by complementary integration of accelerometer and gyroscopeusing Kalman filtering algorithm. We can solve the problem of noise and drift verywell,as well as estimate the buoy posture correctly.Finally, we take experiments at lake,the method mentioned above was used toprocess the data of six axis. We found that the final results of wave frequency andwave direction are consistent with the actual experiments, and verify the feasibility andaccuracy of the analysis algorithm.
