With the development of image processing technology, fingerprint recognition, facerecognition, disaster monitoring and other image processing technology is widely used invarious industries. In recent years, as an important technical means of image processingtechnology, the image enhancement technology has attracted the attention and concern ofscholars and researchers.Analysis and research of image enhancement algorithm are focused on in this paper.Based on the summary and analysis of the traditional image enhancement algorithms andRetinex algorithm, Through summarizing the drawbacks of each method, the improvedalgorithms are proposed as follows:1. According to characteristic that HSI color space luminance component has nothing todo with color information, Retinex image enhancement algorithm on the basis of the HSIcolor space was presented. In accordance with the information of the image brightness, thescale of Retinex algorithm is selected adaptively. While maintaining the color information ofthe image, improved the image contrast. Experimental results show that the proposed methodcan improve the effect of enhancement to some extent while has better fidelity than traditionalmulti-scale Retinex algorithm.2. In view of the multi-scale Retinex algorithm in the process of enhancing the weightvalues of the same situation, put forward a kind of image brightness information basedadaptive multi-scale Retinex algorithm of determining weight, according to the brightness ofthe image information to the weight of the scale of the multi-scale Retinex algorithm foradaptive selection, to improve the effect of traditional MSR algorithm, and through thesimulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
