LTE/SAE has undoubtedly become the target of telecom operators to evolve into the4G network, many CDMA operators all over the world have been involved in this evolution.For CDMA operators including domestic operators, which is facing the keen competitionfrom competitors including LTE network and faster HSPA+network.Meeting thecustomers’demand for rapid growth of mobile broadband, soluting the current networkspeed and breaking through the capacity bottleneck are the drivers for CDMA operatorsto march toward LTE.It is also urgent for domestic operators to keep their advantageof early-development and sustainable competitiveness in telecommunication areathrough the construction of the all IP packet domain oriented core network and thecontinued evolution and strengthen from radio interface to the core network.This paper which is based on the current mobile network architecture and instructedby the LTE/SAE network structure and related standards, mainly studies the way ofpacket domain core network bringing in the evolved packet core(EPC) architecture andanalize the core functional demand for the different introduced methods,it also givessuggestion of the strategy for China Telecom evolve into EPC architecture. Theprogramme is on the principle of economy and stability of Network transformation,it combines the extent of update support and analizes the short-term, medium-term andlong-term evolution strategies of China Telecom core network,seeking to build a framestructure of core network system based on the all IP network.
