In recent years, the rapid development of mobile internet and data services puts forward higher requirements to supporting data communications network services. Therefore, telecom operators proposed a variety of solutions, such as using WLAN network to reduce the pressure of2G/3G network data traffic hotspots or applying new base station to expand capacity.In order to accurately identify the hotspots of data business, A method of identifying traffic hotspots in2G/3G/WLAN networks is proposed. Firstly, according to the existing traffic and flow data of network, the cell-level traffic volumes are forecasted, and hotspot cells and associated cells are selected. Secondly, to obtain the grid-level traffic density maps of voice and data services,the cell-level traffic data of the hotspot and associated cells are unevently distributed to grids within the coverage of cells non-evenly using ground feature weighting, personnel density weighting, the encoding weighting, azimuth weighting, NCS measurement report weighting. The genetic algorithm is applied to optimize the weight in ground object weighting. Finally, the grid flow distribution of density chart is analyzed through two methods to locate data business hotspots. The first method is to score and select high traffic hot-grids with AHP from2G voice traffic and quality,2G/3G data traffic and quality, WLAN network traffic and user-level terminal type aspects in WLAN site selection,and then locate data business hotspots. The other is using spatial clustering algorithm to find the center of densely hot-grids areas as the position of a new station in base station site selection.Recently, this technology has been deployed on the comprehensive analysis platform of the provincial mobile network in practice, and some siting examples are illustrated.The result shows that the technology proposed for the hotpot site selection can find the position of the business hotspot of network efficiently and accurately.
