Reasearch And Implimentation Of Centralized Routing Components In Openflow Networks

Today, the most important equipment in the network is switching equipment.Switching equipment include routers and switches. In the conventional design of switches and routers, the fast packet forwarding function and the routing decision function is integrated.The results of the design is that the switching device is very complex in the realization. Improving performance and adding new function in device is difficult.Since traditional switching equipment don’t have open application programming interface, network management and network researchers can not implement custom network services and network monitoring.Software Defined Network (SDN) is a research hotspot in next-generation networks. The idea is the separation of forwarding and control phase. Its architecture is divided into three layers:the application layer, control layer and the infrastructure layer. Network management and laboratory personnel can implement new network function at the application layer, such as routing, multicasting, network security. Control layer mainly refers to the network operating system,whitch is responsible for maintaining the network topology, collecting network status information. The control layer provides an upwardly open application programming interfaces. Forwarding layer is composed of switching equipment and is responsible for data forwarding.OpenFlow technology is the realization of SDN, Many companies and research institutions have been using the software switches and hardware switches in virtual and real conditions and have done a lot of research, such as QoS, VLAN, network security. But most researches have focused on the data forwarding,. Firstly, the thesis introducethe development of the Internet, as well as the status of the current problems and challenges. Then introduce the study of the SDN andOpenFlow network technology.Thirdly introduce the layer three routing service requirement.And then it introduced the existing research project that forced providing traditional routing service on openflow network, analyzed the shortage and put forward the solution. Finally it described the design of the system and the validation process. The results of experiment showed that the solution can provide openflow network basic routing service function.
