Recently, mobile communication technology has rapid development speed and telecommunication operators have fierce competition of network quality service. At present, base station antenna’s performance can’t satisfy the requirement of future mobile communication network. As the representative of new integrated antenna, on one hand, AAS can achieve flexible change of network’s coverage, on the other hand, by means of active integration AAS can eliminate RF cable and link loss, therefore, user’s peak transmission rate and whole base station’s data transmission ability will promote effectively. As the new generation communication system, LTE has a nice prospect. In this paper, the research is conducted in application of active antenna in LTE.Firstly, I extract LMS algorithm of beamforming technology as my fundamental research point. Because of the defects and restrictions of LMS’s fixed step value, a scholar propose the varied step value of LMS, the value can change according to the signal error, however, the algorithm has poor convergence performance in lower SNR. Thus, based on this achievement, I use the correlation value of error function as the parameter to change step value called DS-LMS, realize that improved method has better error convergence performance in lower SNR, meanwhile, it has good performance in higher SNR. After that, I use a multi-row multi-column type antenna, obtain antenna gain table to make system level simulation which is based on DS-LMS algorithm.Secondly, I use simulation to analyze the application of AAS using in LTE. Because of the shortage of Vienna simulation platform used in my paper, I improve and add some modules like antenna model, network topology etc. The main work is that at the situation of uniform user distribution, optimize the near and far downtilt in LTE using AAS. After that, I use single main beam mode as the baseline to compare the performance difference with AAS in different user distribution. Finally, I give the conclusion that AAS will have broad applicability in LTE.
