With the growth of Web2.0, the internet has entered a new rapid growth period. The scale of web services has a rapid expansion, which leads to the geometric growth of the amount of URL on the World Wide Web. Each site has10,000URLs at least and the website operator has no effective way to monitor every URL’s running status and performance trends. The Webmon monitor system proposed in the thesis is a monitor platform in automation and is used to monitor the URL’s availability and access speed.Focus on the goals of Webmon monitor system specified by the subject, this thesis makes requirement analysis of the framework and designs the overall architecture. The framework consists of the interaction module, the core data module, the scheduling module, the agency module and the alarm module. The monitor system uses data-drive mode. The data module is the core module in the whole system and is the communication bridge among other modules. Agency module and alarm module use "client-server" model for communication.This thesis mainly introduces the design and implementation of the monitor system. The interaction module is implemented by using Codelgniter framework which is based on PHP. The core data module uses Memcached cluster and MySQL cluster to achieve data storage. The scheduling module communicates with agency module by using Apache Mina framework. The alarm module needs to make alarm suppression to avoid alarming more than once.This thesis does functional test on each module of the monitor system to prove that the implementation of the framework is consistent with the expected results. At last, this thesis describes a brief summary.
