In wireless communications, decision feedback equalization technology in single-carrier communication system is one of the key physical layer technologies. Decision feedback equalization can mitigate inter-symbol interference and improve the system performance by using the information of decision symbols. Therefore, decision feedback equalization technology is an important component of the future wireless communication technologies.This dissertation researches on decision feedback equalization in two scenarios, including single-input single-output and space-time block code, for single carrier transmission.In the single-input single-output scenario, firstly this dissertation researches the single-carrier signal model, and two algorithms of linear equalization including Zero-Forcing equalization and Minimum Mean Square Error equalization. Then, decision feedback equalization algorithms is discussed and simulated, including Decision Feedback Equalization with Noise Predictor (DFE-NP) and Simplified Hard Decision Feedback Equalizer (S-HDFE). In the end, this dissertation makes an innovative improvement of S-HDFE algorithm by operating the equalization in the frequency domain, which has a lower complexity when maximum multi-path delay is relatively large.In the space-time block code scenario, firstly this dissertation analyzes the space-time block code signal model and decouples the signals on two channels. Then, decision feedback equalization algorithms is discussed and simulated, including Frequency Domain Equalization with Decision Feedback Equalization (FD-DFE) and Frequency Domain Decision Feedback Equalization (F-DFE). In the end, this dissertation makes an innovative improvement of F-DFE algorithm by providing the information of noise prediction in the frequency domain, which has a lower complexity and similar performance.
