Research And Design Of A Malicious URL Detection System

With the rapid development of computer technology, the Internet has penetrated into every corner of people’s lives, meanwhile, the security problems of network come after also. Network security is not only a matter of national security, social stability, economic development and cultural areas of construction, but also with the personal information and transaction security which are closely related to all users.Among the multiple threat of network security, computer viruses, spyware, Trojan and malicious URL are principle problems to the Internet in recent years. As the typical one in these problems, malicious URL is most widespread and harmful. For dealing with the most serious one which is named as malicious URL, there are many studies on the technology of detection, but their focus is different to each other. As a result, the effect is usually unsa-tisfactory when responding the endless stream of malicious URL.Based on the analysis of existing detection techniques, a comprehe-nsive malicious URL detection system design is proposed in this paper. Detailed design of the various functional modules and analog test of the system are also component of the article. At last, the system has been proven to detect the malicious URL effectively.Main contributions of this paper are as followed:1) introducing the concept of malicious URL and malicious URL detection, summarizing the study background, the process of mali-cious URLs development and the related status of the malicious URL detection technology;2) designing an integrated testing process after analyzing existing technologies, which will test URL through comprehensive analysis in order to ensure the integrity and accuracy.3) distributing different logic functions into modules according to the detecting process, designing the input and output details of each module;4) choosing framework of this system by comparing advantages and disadvantages of different frameworks;5) analyzing the feasibility of system which is evaluated by the records of simulation experiments, and giving an objective evalua-tion of the design after estimating its performance and accuracy;6) giving the prospect of this system, and enumerating some possibility of further improvement.Above all, a scheme of malicious URL detection system has been designed in this article. However, this system is only a useful tool for users to query by entering one URL after that the system will give a result through a series of detecting processes.
