With the rapid development of broadband network and Internet as well as the popularity ofintelligent terminals, the demand of network bandwidth is growing exponentially. All-opticalnetwork with large capacity, multi types of business and d dynamic flexibility is the trend of futurenetwork development. The traditional WDM network whose wavelength assignment is fixed, can’tflexibly meet business needs, causing the waste of cyber source. Elastic optical networks divide thenetwork spectrum resource into small frequency gap by using fine points. According to businessneeds, elastic optical networks allocate appropriate spectrum resources to each vocational work andachieve intelligent management and allocation of network, improving the using efficiency ofnetwork bandwidth resources. This paper mainly introduces the research on the routing spectrum allocation and spectrumfragmentation reconstruction of elastic optical network. According to cyber source model of elasticoptical network, two description methods for network state of frequency band utilization rate andthe spectral window are proposed. Two core issues of elastic optical network are studied based onthe two kinds of description method. For routing spectrum allocation, two kinds of spectrumflexible allocation algorithm are designed. One is based on maximum frequency band utilizationand another is based on minimum spectral window rate. The function of the algorithm is realized byusing OMNeT++network simulation tools on elastic optical network simulation platform. Thesimulation results show that the two algorithms can significantly improve performance of thenetwork blocking probability. Allocation algorithm based on minimum spectral window rate hashigher performance. For spectrum fragmentation reconstruction, reconstruction algorithm based onmaximum frequency band utilization and minimum spectral window rate is put forward andsimulated. The simulation results show that the algorithm mentioned can effectively improve theperformance of the network.
