Research On CDMA Network Coverage And Optimization Technologies For Rural Areas

After several years of large-scale construction, China Telecom’s CDMA network has beenmade great achievement including capacity, coverage and quality, etc. Almost all the dense urbanarea, usually urban, town center, major transport corridors and major tourist attractions areas havebeen well covered. But similar situation cannot been realized in suburban and rural areas, wherestill has many weak coverage area. On the other side, with the expansion of the user number therecomes respiratory effect which leading to contraction of the coverage area. This thesis presents acomprehensive research on rural CDMA network coverage problems with theoretical analysis,project implementation and actual network testing methods.This thesis firstly presents the introduction principle of CDMA system and its technicalfeatures. Then some issues of the CDMA network coverage and capacity planning principle arediscussed. The current situation of CDMA network coverage of Jiangsu province is analyzed indetail including respiratory effect, system load and its impact on network coverage parameters.Strategy for rural CDMA network coverage is introduced followed by network coverage andcapacity planning schemes. Finally, this thesis puts forward specific coverage optimizationstrategy for different rural coverage scenes based on actual project which obtained satisfiedresults.
