Intelligent video surveillance system is a system which based on digitalmonitoring and network monitoring. Under the help of the data processing capabilityof computer, and combined with computer vision technology, it can automatically andintelligently identify the objects of interest and monitoring image abnormalities. Thenthe system alarms automatically and provides relevant information. Therefore, thispaper does some research on the technology of intelligent video surveillance systembased on embedded ARM. Based on the processing core-ARM processor, it constructsan embedded video surveillance system with a number of advantages, such as thesimple equipment, stable performance, low power consumption, high real-timeperformance and low cost characteristics. On this basis, we achieve some of thefeatures of intelligent surveillance with the platform of embedded systems.In terms of hardware, we use S3C6410microprocessor as the main processingcore which is based on ARM11architecture. And with memory chips, serial port,USB camera, JTAG, network card and other components, they together constitute theentire hardware platform. We introduce the design of each part of the circuit in detail.In terms of software, we first establish a software development environment, includingthe establishment of cross-compile environment and the transplantation of embeddedLinux systems etc.. Then, we introduce the realization of the software part of thesystem functions and key codes in detail. Including the use of V4L2interface for videocapturing, the use of h.264for encoding, the use of socket-based on TCP protocol fordata transmission, the use of DirectShow for client image display.This paper also analyzes the abnormal behavior recognition. The algorithms ofmoving target detection and tracking is studied in detail. Especially we introduce afalling behavior recognition algorithm based on Spatial-Temporal Interesting Points,and apply it into the surveillance system to achieve the purpose of intelligentmonitoring.
