When changing people’s daily life, image which has been a carrier of interactive information is also favored by all walks of life as an application mode. The improvement of network infrastructure has built a highway of information data for image-oriented application, which stimulates the development of image platform in all sectors of society. However, the structural difference of object has directly given rise to the emergence of different imaging equipment. How to import and manage the different devices easily through a unified platform and process later according to actual demand has become an urgent problem.This paper proposes an image processing system based on TWAIN protocol after a certain research on the existing image acquisition and transmission technology, whose purpose is to make the common imaging devices compatible without concerning the difference of all kinds of imaging devices and process the imported images. In the growing popularity of paperless office today, our research is great of significance. The ideas of this article are mainly on:(1) Support image acquisition of multi-device. Interaction between hardware data source and software can be executed by implementing transparent transfer protocol. In addition, provide a simple one-button for image acquisition of multi-device on the basis of this.(2) Research and implement the image display system and processing algorithm. This paper combines B/S architecture and ActiveX technology to design software application which obtain satisfactory processing effect and ensure the real-time performance. In the aspect of processing algorithm, our system adopts mathematical morphology algorithm to remove shadow after analyzing the classic shadow removal algorithm. In addition, in order to correct skew of document image, our paper proposes a skew correction algorithm based on the geometrical information of document image which fulfills the task efficiently.(3) Possess a prototype system with strong extensibility. Our device-transparent system is developed in the form of module for integrating other business system. The overall system architecture is split into three functional modules named displaying and processing module, image acquisition module and device abstracting module respectively, therefore, increasing the stability and technical feasibility of the holistic system.
