With the rapid development of city and transportation, in order to ensure the safety of people, now it is a major challenge for quickly and effectively identifying population under the development of science and technology. The personal security and information security will be affected by the identification technology. As a result, no matter the state, Banks, government or other fields, even individuals think the identity authentication and identification recognition technology are important. So it is the demand of social development to finding the suitable certification and recognition technology.Hand-dorsal vein identification, as a new high difficult to forge, replication, uniqueness, long-term stability of biometric identification technology, has paid greater attention from scholars around the world in recent years.In order to build a distributed hand vein recognition system, we in-depth studied a serial of methods, analyze basic principle of hand vein recognition and design solutions of acquisition device, preprocessing method, feature extraction and recognition algorithm.The innovative work of this paper can be summarized as follows:(1) By exploiting combined the advantages of LBP as a descriptor of local gray-level appearance and wavelet transform for multi-resolution image decomposition, this paper proposes weighted fusion of wavelet-based multi-scale LBP. The method is as follows: firstly, using two level wavelet transform, then decomposing and getting different band component of the image, lastly feature extraction. Due to the different scales of image can draw more rich and accurate information and different radius of LBP descriptor also contains the local characteristics of different information, by wavelet transform and weighted fusion of different scales LBP descriptor which makes it have the different scales of space position, radius and direction information. In short, using the combination of the scales of the rich information makes more conducive to image recognition.(2) The paper designed the distributed hand-dorsal vein recognition system. We designed and implemented distributed entrance guard system of hand-dorsal vein recognition. The system adopts the distributed client-server architecture and can accept much terminal equipment. Moreover, it can easily add terminal equipment and has good expansibility. Terminal equipment connected to the server through the network, it can facilitate the server to control multiple clients, unified management and obtained good flexibility, also enlarged the feature database of hand vein.
