As a category of computer virus under the IPv4networks, Worm is a research focus of network security because of its wide range of propagation, expansion speed, causing serious damage. In order to prevent the wide spread of worms in IPv6environment, firstly understanding the worm is how to spread in IPv6environment and how different factors affect the spread of the worm is very important, so this paper study the worm’s propagation in IPv6network which contains the scanning policy and propagation model of worm. The research has an important guiding significance for the prevention and detection of worm in IPv6environment.This paper analyses and tests the existing worm scanning strategy and prove that these scanning strategies is invalid in IPv6network. Then this paper improves the fake RA method and gives a new scanning strategy between networks based on complex network, to form an improved two-level-scanning strategy. This paper realizes and tests the improved two-level-scanning strategy, which proves that this strategy is easier to use in IPv6network than those existing scanning strategies.After analyzing the existing worm propagation models, this paper think that those models don’t present the IPv6network and the worm propagation in IPv6network. So this paper takes a new angle on the IPv6subnet network based modeling of complex networks, then redefined four states of subnet node in propagation, presents a SEIR model based complex network. Then this paper do the simulation and analyze workAfter testing and simulation, the improved two-level scanning strategy is proved to be available in IPv6environment and the SEIR model can simulate IPv6network topology better, and can accurately simulate the use of the two-level scanning policies of worm in IPv6network. The SEIR model can be used in research of IPv6network worm propagation and worm prevention, and has great predictability.
