ICT (Information Communication Technology) industry has become the fifth highest energy-consumption industry. Particularly, the energy consumption from mobile communication network and terminal devices occupies a pretty high proportion of the whole energy consumption in ICT industry. As a result, in wireless communication network, energy efficiency is becoming an increasingly important research. Energy-efficiency mobile communication includes five main approaches. Radio resource management is my focus in this paper to analyze energy-efficiency mobile communication. To address the problem of high energy consumption while transmitting background services in OFDM system, this thesis proposes a scheme to transmit single background service over a multi-carrier channel in OFDM system. By minimizing the total energy consumption, I derive the closed form of optimal energy-efficient bit allocation and corresponding time scheduling over the multi-carrier and propose an optimal energy-efficient algorithm called energy-efficient water-filling bit allocation algorithm. A simple integer process is performed on the water-filling results to get improved integer bit allocation. Numerical simulation proves that the proposed scheme can achieve better performance of background services than that of traditional algorithm. To address energy-efficient transmission problem in hybrid services scenario with diverse types of wireless services, this thesis proposes a novel Cross-layer Cooperative delay-energy Tradeoff (CCT) scheme. First, I formulate the mathematic model to achieve the minimization of total transmission power for hybrid services. Then, I propose a genetic algorithm of energy-efficient resource allocation for hybrid services to solve the multi objects function optimization problem. Simulation verifies that CCT can increase transmit energy-efficiency of hybrid services under satisfying services’ respective QoS(Quality of Service) constraints. To solve energy-efficient problem of transmitting two typical session and background services simultaneously, this thesis conducts a specific analysis on these two typical services scenario. An improved genetic algorithm for energy-efficient resource allocation is proposed to improve the algorithm performance and emphasize the enormous QoS difference of two typical services. By generating time slot allocation array and relative transmission rate array, the united optimal solution of dynamic time slot and rate allocation can be obtained. Experimental simulation results verify that the proposed improved genetic algorithm can improve energy-efficiency for two typical services compared to traditional genetic algorithm. The proposed novel energy-efficient scheme and improved algorithms for radio resource management (RRM) focus on solving high-energy consumption problem in single service, hybrid services and two typical services scenario respectively. Total energy-efficiency is increased under satisfying every service’s QoS constraints. Based on the outcomes of this thesis, four papers of conference and journal are accomplished.
