In recent years, power line communication network gets more and more people to look at and rapid development because of its wide application and combining the family closely. The standard protocol of power line communication G.9955put forward by ITU-T in this background is the latest standard of narrowband power line communications. It can meet the requirements of high reliability and low rate. It realizes the power line digital information transmission based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing technology and applies a variety of forward error correction code and weaving technology. It is widely considered to be the most safe, reliable and cost-effective communication mode in the smart grid world today.This paper first expounds the concept of power line communication, introduces the research background and significance of the power line communication. And it describes the power line communication research status at home and abroad and enumerates several kinds of present power line communication application field.Then this paper studies the power line channel characteristics, noise characteristics and modeling methods of noise, makes modeling on the channel characteristics and impulse noise and analyzes the statistical characteristics of model parameters. After studying the transmission of power line communication protocol design, this paper introduces the processing of some modules of physical frame structure in the transmitter.Next this paper introduces several typical types of OFDM synchronization algorithm including algorithm with cycle prefix aided and algorithm with training sequence of symbols aided. In the next moment according to the frame structure periodic characteristics in the transmitter of the power line communication and synchronization algorithms in the OFDM system, the power line communication synchronization algorithm is implemented in the receiver by delay auto-correlation function and do simulations in various channel environments.Finally, after analyzing the disadvantages of the timing synchronization by using delay auto-correlation function, we makes an innovative design on the frame structure of power line communication in the transmitter and the corresponding synchronization scheme based on interval detection and pattern matching. And the new synchronization scheme verifies the feasibility and strong anti-jamming ability of this scheme by simulations and contrast.
