There is a close relationship between the high speed development of the increasing development of obstacle avoidance techniques and position and ranging technology. Now, there are many realizations of ranging technology, all of them have their own advantages in the different application range. Indoor, the obstacles and environment are very complex, so the choice of ranging technology is very important. With the development of artificial intelligence development, all countries have researched hardly on the machine vision system and made a great progress. This technology has applied to various fields of social production.At present, machine vision systems can be roughly divided into the following three categories:monocular vision system, stereo vision system and multi vision system. Monocular vision does not need to solve the image matching problem in stereo vision and the large distortion problem in multi vision. These advantages can greatly improve the real-time and accuracy of the positioning system, so in this paper we choose the monocular vision to achieve positioning system. Camera parameter calibration is an important step to realize the whole location system, the precision of calibration will exert a great influence on the precision of ranging results. This article has a in-depth study of the theoretical system of the camera calibration and the common methods, the camera calibration technique based on based on black and white grid are deduced and proved in detail. Finally, we use the OpenCV function library to design and implement the software process and system of the camera calibration in the VC++environment.This paper studies and analyzes the linear camera imaging model under the ideal condition. In this paper, we discusses the factors and species that make the image information distort in the image processing process, and how these factors make the images information be nonlinear model. A detailed analysis how to optimize and offset the error generated by the image information distortion is carried out according to the research above. The paper also conduct an in-depth study on various image processing technology and apply these technologies into the machine vision system in this paper in order to improve the detection accuracy of target objects.
