With the rapid expansion of network scale and new application and requirements, the core equipment of communication networks multiplied, such as, base station, power equipment, data center, cooling system, resulting in huge energy consumption. Information Technology Industry accounts for2.5percent of the total energy consumption. So, it is very important to establish the network architecture to support green resource scheduling scheme, which can optimize the allocation of the network resource and decrease the energy consumption of the network at the same time. To improve the energy efficiency of the communication network not only can contribute to energy conservation and emission reduction, but also can reduce the OPEX of operators further.The problem of how to realize the network energy saving has caused extensive attention from all society. Many countries especially developed countries conducted a lot of research about this problem, such as EARTH, TREND, C2P0WER, Green Radio programs, Green Touch plan etc. Main research direction includes collecting energy harvesting technology of renewable energy, energy efficient hardware technology, high performance signal processing technology, software defined network architecture technology, etc.In this paper, we proposed the network virtualization technology to achieve the separation of control and data. Virtual network embedding mechanism and the cellular network cooperation mechanism realize the real-time control of underlying network resources and wireless network resources based on business rules respectively. Based on a large number of business flow trend and statistical analysis of network load conditions and the needs of business rules, energy efficiency as the goal of resources allocation mechanism will be researched. From the perspective of network resources allocation, focusing on the overall energy consumption of network, study how to meet the demand of QoS and high energy efficiency. Without the effect on user experience, improve the utilization rate of network resources and reduce the overall energy consumption of entire network at the same time. Optimize network resources, and at the same time reduce energy consumption as much as possible, to build green communications network.This paper’s main innovations are as follows:1) In this paper, a large number of mobile Internet business data is analyzed. Based on the trend of the analysis, the network traffic load model is established. According to the network traffic load model, underlying network business loads will be detected and give the guidance to resources allocation of the underlying network. This is very important to the green communication network construction.2) In the core network, virtual network mapping mechanism is one of the key technologies of network virtualization. An energy-aware virtual network embedding algorithm is put forward based on traffic awareness. Simulation results show that the algorithm can greatly promote the overall efficiency of the network.3) In access network, cellular network cooperation mechanism is one of the key technologies in the cellular network virtualization. A dynamic base station switch on/off algorithm is proposed based on the time and spatial features of UEs. Simulation results show that this algorithm can effectively improve the cellular energy saving ratio.
