Along with the development of information technology and network, the data in modern society can be recorded and stored, which forms a vast amount of data. In another words, we are surrounded by data every day, such as, scientific data, medical data, demographic data, financial data, sales data and so on. More and more stored data and transient data has motivated higher requirement for information management. In recent years, enterprises pay more and more attention to information and need to manage and process a lot of information urgently. It is necessary to dig out useful information and knowledge from the existing business data. However, it often consumes more time to process a huge amount of data, and then causes low efficiency of query and statistics, which brings difficulty to the next step of data mining. Thus, how to improve the efficiency of query and statistics and achieve quick response becomes an urgent problem.Materialized view (MV), as a technology of query optimization, has become a research hotspot. In this paper, a MV optimization model is put forward, which takes query performance, maintenance cost and space cost in consideration. Firstly, start from the target query, after query preprocessing and aggregation operation decomposition, find out the characteristics of queries. Then divide them into different pedigrees and find out an optimal candidate materialized view based on each pedigree aggregating graph. Finally according to storage space constraints, use the unit benefit of each materialized view to determine the final set of materialized views.This thesis takes a hospital database as a background, based on the query of a large number of data, proves the necessity of query optimization. The model is applied to medical service, and the experiments show that the model has a good optimization performance, which can greatly improve the query efficiency. At the same time it also proves the practical application value of the model, which makes a contribution to the improvement of medical service.
