The reasonable choice of process parameters is particularly important in the CNCgear machining process. A set of suitable process parameters can ensure machiningaccuracy, protect tool and extend the service life of the cutter. On the premise ofguaranteeing the accuracy and service life of cutting tools the production efficiency isimproved as much as possible. However, considering that the selection of processparameters in machining process is still mainly done by manual, manual parameterssetting depends heavily on experience so that the standard process system cannot form.The process database of CNC gear machining system which is established by usingdatabase technology can effectively improve the status. Advanced gear CNC system hasrealized the automatic programming, namely the inputted information such as cuttingtool parameters and the parameters of the work piece and so on can be used toautomatically generate process parameters and the NC code. Therefore, this makes itnecessary to establish the gear oriented NC automatic programming process database toimplement the systematization, specialization and automation of the process selection,improve production efficiency and provide technical support for gear CNC automaticprogramming. Meantime, it’s an effective way to solve the question of the processparameter optimization to do data mining for the gear CNC machining process databasesystem which has been set up by using data mining technology taking aim at exploringthe connection between the process data. The research of CNC machining processdatabase system for gear researched by this paper is the important part to support theCNC system of gear machining researched and developed by the institute of CIMS inHefei University of Technology. The main content of the thesis is as follows:(1)The basic theory and the design method of the database system are analyzed.The gear processing technology characteristic is combined with the requirement of gearCNC automatic programming to make the overall scheme design for the gear CNCprocessing database system.(2)The software model of C/S structure is compared with the software model ofB/S structure, and the development of database system for gear shaper of NC machiningprocess based on Web is finally decided to do. On the basis of the detailed requirementanalysis, the system’s concept structure design and logical structure design areimplemented. Eventually, the system is developed to realize several functions of gearshaping technology data, such as adding, deleting, changing, checking, by using Visual Studio2008development platform and SQL Server2008database system.(3)The characteristic of the data mining technology was introduced in detail andthe application prospect of the data mining technology in the field of the processing andmanufacturing is discussed in this paper. On the basis of the detailed analysis on theassociation rule and the classical algorithm Apriori, the data mining is implemented onthe gear shaping process library which has been established using the Apriori algorithmand the set of frequent itemsets which meets the regulation is dug out. The knowledgediscovery before the optimization of the process parameter is realized and thealgorithm’s feasibility on the process parameter mining is verified.
