Artificial intelligence is the study of making the computers to simulate the human thinkingprocess and behavior. The humans are using natural language to express their thoughts and behavior,so the natural language understanding is an important subject in the field of artificial intelligence.Quantify the fuzzy phenomenons in the natural language is one of difficulties in the naturallanguage understanding.This article proposes a new method to quantify the fuzzy semantics of english declarativesentence based on MMTD(Measure of Medium Truth Degree). At first, describe the widespreadexists of fuzzy semantics in the natural language and comments the quantification research status onthe fuzzy semantics at home and abroad briefly. The author describes the content of MMTD inone-dimensional and multi-dimensional conditions after introduce the basic concept of MMTD.Then, establish the calculate model of the truth scale and describe the step of the quantificationdetailly. Next, quantify the fuzzy semantics of english frequency adverbs and degree adverbsseparately, Set the adjective emotional coefficient and define the fuzzy semantics of the adjectiveand adverbs links. Finally, apply this method to quantify the fuzzy semantics of english declarativesentence, and design the algorithm.Combining the theoretical research work, this article designs the quantification frame andquantification processes. The final results through the experiments show that this method conciseand clear, the computer can process by this method. Therefore, this method can quantify the fuzzysemantics of adverbs effectively in the Artificial intelligence field.
