As the development of optical communication towards to high speed and long-distance transmission, DP-16QAM modulation format play an important role in people s life. As the key devices in coherent optical communication system,400Gbit/s integrated coherent receiver can demodulation DP-16QAM signals and the research on the coherent receiver has great economic value and wide range of application prospects. In this paper, we regard400Gbit/s DP-16QAM integrated coherent receiver as the main analyze object, study its basic principles, key components simulation, the technology of hybrid integration and system testing. The main work and innovations points are as follows:(1) a clear view of three noise sources based on coherent optical receiver front-end, set up simulation model via Matlab, analyze the impact of relative intensity noise, thermal noise, CMRR on receiver performance and then draw a conclusion: when the LO power is lower, the system performance is more dominated by the thermal noise effect, while the LO power is high, the system performance is dominated by the LO-RIN beat noise. At this time, enhance the CMRR can significantly improve the sensitivity of the receiver.(2) proposed a new method for the detection mass balance monitoring quantify integrated coherent receiver. As long as the transimpedance amplifier and laser source to obtain the thermal noise of the receiver, respectively, and the relative intensity noise, it can only be obtained by monitoring the optimum value of CMRR LO power.(3) A technology of hybrid integration between90°optical hybrid and high speed PD array is proposed, including the design of a compact hybrid integrated structure and a passive alignment method through monitoring the position of the image. Simulation results show that:under a certain resonance and impact conditions, the waveguide will not be destroyed, proved that the hybrid integrated manner is highly resistant to vibration in the coupling process, the impact resistance.(4) presents the key indicators of a coherent receiver, including the principles and methods of testing S-parameters, CMRR, THD and skew, and built a test platform, and the measured results are compared with the standard definition, the results show that:the small-signal bandwidth about, CMRR, THD are in line with standard definition. Finally, build a400Gbit/s DP-16QAM coherent optical transmission system experimental platform to evaluate its transmission performance and draw constellation, the results show that the coherent receiver good transmission performance.
