With the enhancement of access technology, the Internet of Things has been developed rapidly, and there will be more and more devices connected into the network. The resources of the IoT include the devices and the information sensed by the devices. Taking into account the diversity and differences of devices, as well as the huge amount of information, device modeling has become the fundamental to resolve the problem of unified access, management and control. In this paper, the idea of MDA is used for reference in the research process. At first, I establish the domain model of Internet of things; then set up a platform-independent equipment’s shared information model based on ontology; finally set up an IoT access platform to verify the model. In this paper involves the main work as follows:(1) Study the IoT domain model of IoT-A, the sematic sensor network ontology of W3C and some other system’s sematic models. Based on these models, combining the characteristics of the IoT and the future development needs, I set up an IoT domain model, clear the position of the equipment in the domain model of IoT and also the relationship between the equipment and other concepts in the IoT. (2) Make a detailed analysis of the core module in the IoT domain model, the device module. Establish a platform-independent equipment’s shared information model based on ontology, achieved a unified description and understanding about the equipment.(3) Propose a Device Self-Description Language (DSDL) based on the XML, as the information exchange formation between equipment and platforms, also as the parameter format provided for the outer interface by the platform.(4) Through the IoT access platform I have validated the devices sharing information model, realized the access and control of cameras and sensors, successfully achieved the availability and reasonableness validation of the model.
