To slove the problem of Inter-Cell Interference in LTE system,3GPP introduces Coordinated Multi-Point(CoMP) transmission and reception technologies to LTE-Advanced. Joint reception is an effective solution among uplink CoMP technologies to reduce the adjacent cell interference, which requires information exchange over a backhaul infrastructure. The performance of CoMP joint reception will be affected when the backhaul capacity is limited.The thesis forces on the technology of joint reception under limited link capacity. Firstly, the background of CoMP technology and its classifications are illustrated. Besides, the reception model and the theoretical analysis of uplink joint reception are presented in detail, including tradeoffs of three clustering methods. Afterwards, the architecture of system level simulation platform of uplink CoMP joint reception is presented to provide the more accurate analysis, whice including detailed introduction of the working flow of each module. And then, based on the theoretical analysis of the influence of limited link capacity on uplink CoMP, a modified cell clustering method based on mathematical planning is proposed to improving the performance of CoMP reception under limited-capacity backhaul link. Accordingly, the simulation results are analyzed later.
